The hotel opened in April, 2008, so when I stayed there it was rather new. The rooms are good, they have free internet (cable, not wi-fi, but you can ask for a cable at the reception), and they speak English at the reception. Some tips however:
1) If you can avoid the rooms n01, n02, n03 (n depends on the floor) as they face the Maria Luiza Blvd and are rather noisy, even during the night.
2) The restaurant is not too good. The waitresses and the waiters don't speak English, so placing an order is limited to pointing on the name of the food.
3) You better hang something on the television set in the room, the blue LED is awfully bright and faces the bed.
4) The breakfast is good but simple, so if you are into the big swedish type breakfast this is not for you.
If you have an hour or two, the aquarium in Donostia definitely worths a visit.
If you go to Plovdiv, Hotel Park Imperial is a nice place to get a room.
I've been staying there on every visit since 2006 October. The staff is friendly, the rooms are good, there is internet in almost every room.
However, their restaurant is getting worse, now the english speaking waiters have disappeared, and the service is slow.
A nice hotel, with really good rooms, placed right in the museum.
I stayed there for 4 nights in Octobre, and was really content with the place, but there is one small problem:
On some booking sites they promise free WiFi which is simply false - they have WiFi, but you have to pay to the provider, or have to possess a subscription with them - I think it was T-Mobile, but I did not stay for too long, so that point is a bit hazy.
All in all I recommend this hotel, just don't expect free internet.
