Bruma Flea Market... In the same area as Eastgate Shopping Centre, has some great deals and great variety on everything South African as well as all the latest in Consumer Shopping.

Best place to shop is Rosebank - lots of stores selling more unique South African goods by local designers in The Zone at Rosebank.

There is also a good craft market in Rosebank. The prices at this craft market are a bit higher than in the Bruma craft market but still very affordable for the average traveler, and you can haggle with the vendors. It is smaller than Bruma market, but safer, offers more variety in terms of other stores.

The best day to go is a Sunday, because there is a level of the parking lot that gets closed off and converted into a pretty nice craft market.

For more typical department stores, boutique clothing and the like try Sandton City Mall and Nelson Mandela Square (which are attached to one another).
