Alexandria, VA + Add a trip

Old Town Alexandria: down King Street, which runs right down to the river, and then Union Street, which parallels the river. Both have cute little shops and some great seafood restaurants.

Another area is Del Ray, just north of Old Town. The main street, Mt. Vernon Ave., has lots of shops and restaurants, and a good farmers market on Saturdays in the spring and summer.
