    Good local music venue!

Check out a show at the infamous Kilby Court when you're in Salt Lake. It can be hit or miss at times, but you'd be shocked how many fantastic acts play this converted garage. And you can say you went to see a band play in front of 20 people when the same band will play for 2000 in another town. Wonderful atmosphere, and take ingredients for s'mores... you'll be spending some time around a camp fire.

Utah Arts Festival annually in June

The first arts festival I ever attended (when it was still the Salt Lake City Arts Festival), and one of my favorite reasons to return to Salt Lake City each year. Artists' marketplace, music, visual and performing arts, a range of activities for kids and adults.

If you've never been to Salt Lake City, you should take time to visit Temple Square. This is the center of the city, and offers a rich history of the area's pioneer and religious history.

Red Rock Gardens above the University of Utah is pretty easy if you are in SLC for a short time...This Is the Place Monument is also nearby and very cool, and provides a great view of the whole valley from the foothills.
