My friend Al Bunetta, owner of Oh Boy Music, brought me to this slice of Brooklyn where the regulars are all Italian ex-pats from New York.

Fresh traditional pasta dishes, eggplant, cookies, pastries, meats, cheeses and olives.

Out of this world.

The Standard downtown Nashville is EXCELLENT! It's near the Homewood Suites and Mortons, and the chef works magic with a mix of southern food and french influence. It's a little pricey ($20-30 still less than Morton's) but the service is outstanding and the food was the best I've had in town.

One more - Demo's, also downtown, but more near the music row. Nice variety, a moderately priced ($10-20) but well worth it. Ask the wait staff what they recommend. They didn't steer us or anyone else around wrong. Oh, you're in the south - order the sweet tea...

The Provence Bread shops are a local bakery/cafe, similar in style to Panera's. Great bread & sandwiches as well as a fun feel.

Quick and easy, nothing fancy. Lots of chicken done lots of ways. A taste of Nashville. Near Music Row.

Whenever we're in Nashville, we set aside an evening for this wonderful chic restaurant with its great view of the State House. Good food, good wine list. Try it!
