The Heathman Hotel is a historic, luxury hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon, with luxurious accommodations, elegant dining, world-class services, versatile meeting & event space and deluxe getaway packages.

The Ace Hotel on Stark between 10th and 11th downtown. You've never been to a more sophisticated yet down-to-earth place. It has Stumptown Coffee, debatably the best espresso in town, and Clyde Common, debatably the best restaurant and bar in town. Lastly, the decor and attitude are stellar, to say the least.

We've stayed several weekends at The Double Tree - downtown. Right next to Lloyd Center for shopping, there's a park across the street, many places to walk to and explore, and the max is right on the corner. The staff is excellent helping with parking (valet) bags, etc. Check-in was a breeze and the room was sparkling clean. We needed a crib for our infant and they supplied a play yard that worked just fine. Room service was excellent, speedy & delicious!

Overall, fairly nice. The staff, however, I found slightly incompetent. One front desk girl didn't know what "concierge" meant, and the other ate a watermelon by the television in the lobby while guests waited for her to notice them.

very hipster wanna-be but in PDX it works ;) Stumptown coffee smell in the lobby is what this guy loves the most!
