    Rochester going up

A group of us are working to change people like Alx's mind about Rochester. Check out Rochester Rising Stars, Roc City Rising and Digital Rochester for examples of cool young people doing great things in the area.

Rochester is hub of IT tech heads!

Rochester is a great career spot for IT professionals!! Tons of cool jobs at cutting edge (think disruptive) web app dev shops.

There are a numerous higher ed Universities & Colleges here as well, very nice and growing campuses!

Pretty city that is being nicely revitalized, super housing prices! (way cheap compared to So Cal or NYC), plus awesome lake front, bay and bike trails, parks, etc. Definitely see the uber cool "Park ave" area, too!

    BBQ part II

Sticky Lips IMO, it's got better meat/bbq than Dino BBQ, while Dino BBQ's got better sides.

Rochester also has the Strong National Museum of Play, which is a great place for adults and kids, as well as a lot of great restaurants, from Thai and Japanese to Indian and Ethiopian. A surprisingly rich city culturally for its size. And with RIT and U of R here, the population is pretty heterogeneous, and the range of interesting people and places is significant. Negative comments tend to come from college-age kids who are frustrated by the fairly unimpressive nightlife. :)

If you have kids, Strong Mational Museum of Play is a must. You might also consider biking along the Erie Canal and Genesee River. Check http://www.borderlinemadness.com/MuseumofPlay.html
