Chris Stott replied over 4 years agoWe stayed at the Westin Times Square http://www.westinny.com/
It was the most comfortable bed I've ever stayed in (heavenly beds). We requested a high corner room and got it - well worth it! Very quiet too - no traffic noise.
Great central location to explore the city.

Richard Archambault replied over 4 years agoI stay at the W Tuscany on 39th @ Park Avenue. The rooms are gigantic compared to the W New York on Lexington @ 49th. I want a room where I can walk around the bed without scraping the walls.

Jim Shook replied over 4 years agoI recently used Roomorama.com to find a great apartment in the lower east side to rent for a week. Pretty cool site for finding short term rentals.

Jon Moss replied over 4 years agoI'm a big fan of Kimpton Hotels - we stayed at 70 Park Avenue and really rated it.
Nice rooms, great service, free WiFi and they had public MBPs in the lobby. You could also try the Alex Hotel, on 205 E 45th St. It was a shock to get an upgrade to a suite and it was enormous! Beyonce's entourage were staying there as well!

Sven Weisbrich replied over 4 years agoCheck out the AKA Hotel on 44th, close to Times Square. Reasonable rates for more than spacious rooms. All have a kitchen and seperate office. Changes to the AKA after I've got massively disappointed by the Royalton.

alice chang replied over 4 years agoI arrived in Chelsea almost at midnight and, as a girl on her own, had my guard up the whole time I was there. The guy who manned Chelsea International Hostel during my two-night stay was super friendly and made sure I was taken care of. The rooms are clean (I saw no bugs, dust, or webs), and the showers work decently. At $34 a night, it's a fantastic place if you're just looking for a place to sleep.

Bill Reid replied over 3 years agoThe lesson I have learned - don't pay big money for a small hotel room. Get yourself a vacation rental and enjoy your time in NYC with space for the whole family to be comfortable.
Not all vacation rentals are expensive. I have found several that cost under US $150 a night with a few under US $100 a night. I have started listing these on my web site at http://www.short-term-apartment-rentals.com/new-york.html
I'll keep adding more as I find them.
