    Cheap(er) shows

If you want to take in a show in Vegas, but aren't too fussy what you see, there are a bunch of discount day-of-show ticket booths on the strip.

They won't get you into the hot shows like LOVE or The Producers, but for shows like Penn & Teller or Mamma Mia, they offer discounts in the $20-50 range.

http://www.tix4tonight.com/ has the details of the locations

    Free Shows

You can save money and still experience the glitz Vegas has to offer by hitting some of the free shows around town. The following are some of my favs.

    1. Treasure Island has a Pirate show (outside) 2. Bellagio Water show (outside), Inside go see the Conservatory--I love this! 3. Inside the Aladdin there a rainstorm 4. Mirage has a volcano eruption outside 5. FREEMONT EXPERIENCE (you can't go to Vegas and NOT visit freemont) 6. Lion Habitat at the MGM

2 Great Places to Keep in Mind While in Vegas

#1 - Drai's Afterhours is the BEST...if you're up and need a good place to party til the sun comes up, this is the place.

#2 Fiamma - in MGM Grand. BEST gnocchi ever! and I mean EVER! A must have...

    Safely fire machine guns

If you ever wanted to safely fire a machine gun, this firing range is for you. Rent a AK47, M16 or a shotgun - no questions asked. They don't even ask for an ID. But the place is safe. And a lot of fun.

This was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting something kitschy or half-assed but in fact this museum is associated with the Smithsonian and is very well done. Fantastic artifacts from atomic history (devices, tools, and even atomic-themed consumer products), photos, detailed explanations, mock ups. You name it this place has it. Fascinating and unsettling all at the same time.

Classic Vegas establishment and extremely affordable. Twenty something dollars per night, and complementary half naked people dancing on the bar - If you are into that sort of thing that is.
