Volume of water sufficient for one person to survive for one week in the Black Rock Desert. (One Imperial firkin of beer (or ale) is about 40.915 litres.) 5 flats of beer (5x24x355ml) is 42.6 litres (the extra 600ml is "for my dead homies".)

A Vitruvian metric firkin is 50 percent of your body mass (as water).
