The rims and the river. Generally to the north of the city are the rims. Most of this is park and has lots of trails to explore. Be careful about the heat in the late afternoon in summer. The river is the Yellowstone River that comes out of Yellowstone Park. Except during times of high flow in the spring and early summer there are places to walk in the riverbed and look at the water.
