Black Forest Inn in Uptown Minneapolis is a must visit, great food and atmosphere. Come with an empty stomach. Better make that two.

The Heartland on St. Clair in St. Paul. Amazing organic/locally produced fare - at a reasonable prices in a super warm setting. Can't recommend it enough.

John Hoffoss replied over 4 years agoTown Hall Brewery
The guys at Town Hall know how to brew some great beers. The food is decent-to-great, and the outdoor patio is hard to beat during the summers. Sitting on the west bank of Minneapolis, you're blocks from one of the larger cultural centers of the city, and a few more blocks from downtown Minneapolis. Definitely worth the trip for a pint!

Yarusso Bros was one of the best Italian meals I have had in a long time. Simple spaghetti and meatballs, but the flavor was incredible.

Barnetta Johnson replied over 4 years agoI love where I live, and thats in the heart of Uptown, just a second from downtown. one of the best places to go for eats and arts is the Walker, and...did you know you can go to the Walker for free on thursday! so if you love to have your art and eats together thats the best place for it.
the Walker Art Center is right on Hennepin Ave right across the street from Loring park and St Marks!

Rohn Jay Miller replied over 3 years agoLurcat on Loring Park has a great bar scene and haute cuisine comfort food. Nick + Eddies next door is where the hipsters go instead of Lurcat. Restaurant Alma is on the other side of the river but the chef produces some of the finest food in the Twin Cities, all local / organic. Finally, Lucia's in the Uptown has been serving the food of Lucia Watson, a Beard finalist, for 20 years. Also has a comfy wine bar next door.

Anthony Licari replied over 3 years agoNye's Polonaise Room hands down. If you're traveling to Minneapolis for one or two nights you have to check this place out. Esquire reviewed Nye's Polonaise as the best bar in America. The menu is mostly Polish food. It's right over the bridge on Hennepin. There's other bars around the area are decent as well if the Polonaise doesn't do it for you.
