Southwest Harbor, ME + Add a trip

This easy and relatively level hiking/walking trail leads to a beautiful rocky beach that offers a great location for a picnic or just hours of peaceful relaxing with the wind in your face and ocean waves crashing onto the rocks at your feet. Half of the trail follows the shoreline of Ship Harbor, a small pristine harbor that does not have any boats or docks any more. A fun and relaxing trail that is easy to navigate and takes less than an hour to explore round trip - however, I suggest you plan to spend several hours. Take your time and soak up the beauty all around you.

A word of caution! NEVER turn your back on the ocean when you walk out onto the rocks at the ocean. Sudden very large waves can appear without warning - be vigilant!!!
