    A Quaint, Urban B & B

If you're looking for the charm of a B & B in an urban setting, the Inn at 2920 is a great choice. As a Canton resident with little extra room for guests, I refer my guests here. Modern, quiet and charming, but in close proximity to some of the best Canton bars & restaurants.

The Inn at 2920 is just a block off of O'Donnell Square, the "center" of the Canton neighborhood. It's two blocks from the water and Canton's Waterfront Park.

    North Baltimore

If you have a car (or are willing to cab it) take a trip to north Baltimore for a visit to Belvedere Square. Awesome wine bar (Grand Cru) and really good restaurant choices: Cafe Zen (asian mix) Zen West (great Tex Mex owned by the same folks as Cafe Zen -- try the fish tacos!), Egyptian Pizza, or Greg's Bagels (in the morning). Catch a movie at the historic Senator Theater or shop at one of the many boutique shops.

The Ambassador Dining Room. Best Indian food for 100 miles, and best ambiance in the city. http://www.ambassadordiningroom.com/

Nice, cozy little coffee shop just off Eastern Ave near Patterson Park. Has a decent selection of coffees, and handmade food. It is small, so it's not the best place to plant yourself for an extended book-reading or web-surfing session. But it's perfect for stopping in and grabbing some coffee to go on a cold day or to check out featured photographs and paintings by local artists.

When people ask me what my favorite restaurant in Baltimore is, the answer is always The Helmand. The food is always perfect, with a menu that delivers for both vegetarians and carnivores alike. The prices are completely reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. For an entree, you can't miss with their dolma murch or any one of the kabobs offered. And for a desert, don't miss the feerney yogurt with fresh fruit topping.

Woodberry is a phenomenal restaurant, and any travelers heading through should try to check it out. They use local and organic products wherever possible.
