    La Fogata

Miguel and friends serve up amazingly good Colombian food, including the best plate of chicharonnes in Western Mass. Friendly vibe, the restaurant includes a small latin-focused grocery store. Full bar, plus amazing selection of fruit juices for the non-drinker.

    Waconah Park

Pittsfield has a legitimate claim to being the birthplace of baseball in the US. Decades before Abner Doubleday, there's records in Pittsfield City Hall of a prohibition in playing baseball near the new meeting house, for fear of breaking the windows. Pittsfield's had a minor league park since 1919 - it's a creaky old stadium that faces the setting sun. The quality of ball at present isn't great - the teams that play here are college leagues that play a short summer season, but there are excellent "old-rules" games here played by players in wool uniforms and vintage gloves. If you're in Pittsfield in the summer, this should be a pilgramage for you...

    Elizabeth's

You can make an argument that this is the best restaurant in the Berkshires. Tiny, almost completely devoid of atmosphere, in a funky part of town... but Tom and Liz can cook. Creative mediterranean menu with fresh local ingredients. Often impossible to get a table in the summer. Great pastas, meats, enormous salads. Very much worth the trip.
