Mark Atwood replied over 4 years agoThe Diesel Cafe at Davis Square
It's the go to place for supertravelling geeks, plus much of the local alt- and geek crowd.
Plus the food is decent, the coffee is fun, the baristas remind me of being home in Seattle.

Rachel Mercer replied over 4 years agoThe Diesel Cafe doesn't actually have Free Wifi, it's 7 dollars/ day. Definitely the place for geeks and hipsters to hang out though!

Benjamin Mako Hill replied over 4 years agoYes. Diesel is great but has never been free. True Grounds has wifi and it's not too far from Diesel. Blue Shirt cafe (which is just around the corner from Diesel and now has a bunch of seating) also has free wifi.
Here's a pretty full list: http://boston.wifimug.org/
I'd recommend Toscanini's, Harvest/C3, True Grounds, and Trident but most of the others are that list are fine.

Brian Inderwies replied over 3 years agoTrue Grounds in Ball Square (700 Broadway, Somerville) has free Wifi, a teriffic atmosphere, and excellent coffee and food... without hipster pretense. Free wifi (just don't abuse it and squat all day) and really great employees.

Ches Martin replied over 3 years agoAndala Cafe, Central Square in Cambridge. It's a well-kept secret a block from the Central stop on the Red Line. Nice, classy atmosphere, feels just like a European café, right down to the servers. Quality Lavazza espresso (great tea selection too), Middle Eastern food that's great for breakfast and lunch (goat cheese, honey and fruit plate... mmm), and of course, free wifi.

Andala Coffee House

Mike LaBella replied over 3 years agoNow a days.. Starbucks is essentially free.. just put 10 bucks on a starbucks card.. buy your coffee with it and you can register it online... and by doing so you get 2 hours of internet per visit.
I know... Starbucks = evil corporation but this is actually a good thing from them..
