    Fourth Street Live

If you come to Louisville and have a taste for the night life, then Fourth Street Live is a must see. No matter what your taste for entertainment Fourth Street has it.

    Kentucky Derby Museum

Great look and feel for the day to day life of people in the horse racing industry. Amazing 360 degree presentation of a day in life of someone working at the track on Derby Day.

    21 C Museum Hotel

Luxury boutique hotel with exquisitely friendly staff and excellent service. Features the owners' collection of contemporary art, curated with rotating shows. Lots of photography, sculpture, installations and video. Also check out their excellent restaurant for lunch or dinner, or drinks at the bar. My favorite spot in town.

Depends on when you're visiting. If you are coming after the first Saturday in May (Derby Day), you can visit the Churchill Downs if you're interested in visiting the racetrack. Also, two Saturdays before Derby Day is the fireworks show in downtown Louisville, that kicks off the Derby 'festival'. This is a great time to be in Louisville, as following the fireworks (the biggest in North America) there are various activities leading up to Derby Day.

Louisville Slugger Museum: I had the best time in this museum. The bat out front is ginormous.

Fourth Street Live: Loved that place when I visited the town the first time (2005). It hadn't been renovated very long from what I understand. There was tons of neon. It was fabulous.

There's Maker's Mark and then there's a restaurant next door to it. They had the best Bread Pudding and Raspberry Cheesecake (I hope it's still on the menu).

We also visited another museum. It housed glassblowing kilns, and it also had a glassed room where you could stand over the room where the kilns were and watch. I don't remember the name of this museum unfortunately. It could have been Louisville Glass Art or Louisville Glass Art Museum? Sorry about the vagueness.

Louisville Science Center. That place is amazing. I recommend that, too.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn there. It was a great place to stay and our group is looking forward to staying there again. Hope it's still there!
