    Bardstown Road in the Highlands

Great stip of eclectic shops and things to do. Head towards downtown, and you can catch bite to eat and some drinks.

This tip has the address "Highlands"

The new dining mecca in Louisville is sprouting up in Frankfort Avenue. It has several good restaurants that are chic and contemporary. It is close to downtown and can be accessed from River Road. There is also a Tumbleweed Tex-Mex restaurant on the river on River Road (before you reach Frankfort Avenue from downtown). The food is acceptable but the location is great.

Another excellent place to eat (for locals) is Corner Cafe on Whipps Mill Road. If staying in downtown and without a car, it may be too far.

Combination of bar, restaurant, hotel and gallery - good food and a lot of fun with the red penguins...
