Take an hour or two next time you are in Springfield, IL to visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. You will be impressed by the way the Museum unfolds Lincoln's story and its impact on the U.S.
This tip has the address "212 North Sixth Street" -

Dell's Popcorn Shop on 6th Street is a great place for popcorn. I love the cheese, plain and carmel mix.

Actually, you should plan on more than an hour or two. My family and I spent well over two hours just at the museum. We didn't even get to the library.
The museum volunteers are very knowledgeable and are eager to share what they know. Do not ignore them!
Very highly recommended.
