    Eat at The Vortex

Great place to eat cheap, but good, food. The wait staff can have an attitude but that's part of it's appeal. There are two of them in Atlanta, one in midtown and one in little five points. I prefer the one in little five points but they are both good.

    eat at South City Kitchen

If you crave local culture when you travel, check out this great place. It's soul food, made upscale, but without ruining the essence. Restaurant is classy enough for formal business dinners too, and has a good wine list. Expect to eat a lot. Only complaint - it gets a bit noisy. Make reservations: +1.404.873.7358

    Fatt Matt's Rib Shack

If you like ribs, you must stop and eat here. Very small seating area, so try to avoid lunch time (1130hrs-1300hrs) as it is usually packed.

    Get the Ghetto Burger

The Famous Ghetto Burger is at Ann's Snack Bar in Atlanta. It's off of Memorial Drive. Not sure the exact address. Plan on spending at least an hour or two to eat depending on how busy it is. It's well worth the wait though. Best burger I've ever had.

Sublime Donut on 10th St at Northside Dr is alleged to have the best freshly made donuts in the city. Only been there once and they had run out of everything but caramel apple fritters and cinnamon buns, but they were out of this world.

Busy Bee is great. It's over by Ashby Street, which I think is scheduled for renovation.

    You might also try:

    and maybe, I dunno,

    (d) Rolling Bones, Auburn Ave... but it's a pretty good city for bbq, look around.

This is a really cool coffee shop. This vintage coffee shop serves coffee from a local bean roaster. There's free book exchange and local pastries for sale. Also, nice quiet upstairs to study, meet, or even do yoga!

Apparently they stopped serving Icea Tea for lunch but the waitress forgot that and informed us that they don't have Iced Tea at all...but when we saw the patrons 2 tables over with Iced Tea she said "let me check to see if we have it, because we usually dump it out at lunch" and within a couple minutes I had Iced Tea....Sorry the food was just OK and they service was awful. Don't waste your time on this place.
