    the wolfsonian

a really great museum - thoughtful and interesting exhibits, about design and how it has impacted life (from mid 19th C to mid 20th C). Right near all the art deco buildings around south beach. Def worth a look if you have some time in Miami!

    The Venetian Pool is excellent!

This historic site, tucked inside the neighborhood of Coral Gables in Miami, was originally a rock quarry site that was turned into a really large Venetian-styled pool area. The really large pool also has a waterfall and cave. There's a sort of large sandbox for sunbathing, and outdoor showers for rinsing off.

Since it is filled with spring water, the waters are much colder than the ocean water here. Also, when I went, there were a lot of kids in the area. But if you enjoy swimming at all, I'd rank this as one of the coolest pools you'll ever be in. It's definitely a must-see.

The Biltmore's all-you-can-eat Champagne buffet lunch, Coral Gables

Great experience in a fabulous setting. Amazing spread. Not cheap at USD65 per head but good value with unlimited champagne and food. Allow 3-4 hours to get the most out of it.

The Grove is great for a bar scene.

If you want a real fun time drop by Jimbo's on Virginia Key for a couple beers after the beach. Great diverse crowd, cheap beers, and an authentic Miami experience
