  Eastern Market is really fun to visit, especially on weekends, where you there's a variety of produce, meats, and specialty foods stalls as well as some local farmers, folk artists, and street musicians. The food part is open every day except Monday, but the stalls outside are only set up on weekends. It's accessible by metro stop of the same name.

  You should also hang in Dupont Circle for some awesome reading, great coffee shops, and a few fun bars and lounges (including Thievery Corporation's 18th Street Lounge).
