All of the libraries in San Jose offer free internet connection, whether via wifi or through a networked desktop computer. The wifi is open to everyone and doesn't require a password, and even if you're not a resident, you can ask for a one day usage computer ID for the library computers if you don't a laptop to use wifi on.
