heath slawner replied over 5 years agoBest Hotel Gym Ever
The Hyatt Regency La Jolla has the best gym I have ever seen at a hotel. It's a free-standing Sporting Club, with its own membership, and hotel guests are given full access for $12/day (or $24 for 3 days). It's totally worth it, especially if you're consistently disappointed with the poor quality of most hotel gyms. There's a even a healthy cafe (serving fresh sandwiches, steamed eggs, beautiful veggies, smoothies and coffee) on the 2nd floor! Staff are EXTREMELY sweet and helpful (and great looking, too!)

great sushi, try tuna sashimi and ahi poke salad, it's so delicious. they usually have a dj there, so it has kind of a club atmosphere, probably not the best place for a business meeting as it can be kind of noisy. audience is the hipsters, the rich and the famous or the wannabes, always fun to watch the crowd :-)

Are you headed to San Diego during 4th of July? The USS Midway offers an excellent vantage point for the "Big Bay" Fireworks.

Ok this is the best place to have fun and get a great food for inexpensive. The drinks are strong and food is alot. This is an outdoor patio restaurant and has a dance bar attached to it. The staff is very very helpful with what to see and go in the city. Go visit Mo's in Hillcrest. They have breakfast, lunch, dinner and a full bar all the time. Opens at 9am.

Lesley Smith replied over 4 years agoBeach City Market - Best way to start the day.
Tucked at the back of the Plaza, the Beach City Market does an awesome egg plate and sandwiches (added gherkins though :S). The tables outside attract thrushes who sit on the chairs and will take bread from your palm. An amazing sight!

Carolina Liechtenstein replied over 3 years agoA pocket gay community, people from around the world, a medical community surrounded by wonderful hole in wall places to eat and hip shops. It's a fun and busy part of town, with foods from around the world, including Afghanistan. There is the Landmark theater, where the more interesting and intelligent movies are screened. There is a lot more then only the gay scene. Much more is going on! It's San Diego's truly urban mix.

Carolina Liechtenstein replied over 3 years agoMany of the actual planes that made history are right here. This is a chance to have your kids learn what does on inside a plane, and the gift shop is full of wonderful books, DVDs and other aviation things. There are meetings here too of various aviation interests. It is surrounded by an amazing park, and the building is art deco.

Carolina Liechtenstein replied over 3 years agoLovely architecture, a feeling of old American traditions mixed with maritime and city. Great view from the bridge and harbors. The surf here is one of the better places to learn how to surf for the first time. It can be a long mellow break on the right day and tide. Of course one must see the Del Coronado for old time elegance and history. If dressed right, check out the Prince of Wales in the hotel, and the interesting shops.

Carolina Liechtenstein replied over 3 years agoBring your kids here, and you too will learn about the local sea life. You will see our true locals swimming in the tanks, and you can view them from under the water via large windows. The ocean has more to it, then one will see simply being on it's surface. Our local waters are very rich in a variety of life. There are also other displays, and the landscaping is made up of native plants. There is a great view here too of La Jolla and the North County coast, and almost always a refreshing gentle breeze. It's in one the most beautiful locations in Southern California.

Carolina Liechtenstein replied over 3 years agoBring a wrap, a good friend or a love, and hear the very best of story tellers. This is the most fun way to hear and watch Shakespeare. It's set in a setting that takes you back to those times too, and is in the lovely Balboa Park. It is housed in a half timber building much like England centuries ago.

Sudesh Grg replied over 3 years agoForget the San Diego Zoo. I went to both. The Wild animal Park is the place to be if you love animals. There are safari tours so you get to see animals roaming freely. No cages and super high barbed wires. Of course you won't find Lions roaming around but elephants and zebras seem to be just chilling out in the park. The guides were good at explaining animal behaviours. Trust me, something about animals roaming free and enjoying their habitats makes you feel so good inside.
