    Posh by discreet in Hollywood

The Sunset Marquis lives up to it's rock star billing but has matured to be the discreet hotel in Hollywood perfect for when you want the rock star experience but want to wake up clear headed for your 8AM or earlier call time.

    Millennium Biltmore Hotel

Old-fashioned but comfortable enough (except desk chair in the room). Public spaces are incredible -- the kind of interior decoration and finish work that you tend to see only in best older US hotels (and many in Europe).

This tip has the address "downtown"

    Intercontinental Los Angeles Century City

It's a pretty sleek place to put up in LA, even though expensive, it is worth the money and you won't regret it. Luxurious suites, excellent service and somke really good food. Located alongside Fox Studios main gate, the place attracts all kind of showbiz people as well.

I have stayed here several times and I love it. If you are coming to Los Angeles to work or play and are looking for a place to lay your weary head while sipping champagne and enjoying the view from Hollywood Hills, then this is the place for you. The apartments are beautifully designed there is a swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Internet and local calls are included and if you are lucky Leo will let you take him for a walk. Did I mention the place is dog friendly. It is located in a super cool part of Hollywood with a comedy club, juice bar, Diner and Gelson's within walking distance. This place is frequented by interesting people doing interesting things and you can be as social or quiet as you like. A perfect home away from home.

Beautiful rooms, especially with a view to the sea. But boy do they sting you every chance they get. Have plenty of money to burn if you want to take advantage of all their stuff.

Great Place to stay - not as hot and sticky as downtown. Still haven't managed to stay in the Oceans 12 room though!

The Ocean view rooms are great (but more expensive) and there is a veranda. Just round the corner from a good grocers and 4 blocks from one of the best Sushi restaurants in Santa Monica.

I stayed here and was not impressed. One morning when I woke up to get ready for the conference I was attending, dirty water had backed up from the shower drain into the shower. Originally the front desk didn't want to send someone up to fix it until after 9am because they didn't want to disturb the other guests. I told them that was unacceptable because I needed to get ready for my conference breakout sessions. It wasn't until after I spoke with the manager that they offered me something to compensate the inconvenience. Next year when I attend the same conference in LA (again), I will NOT stay at the Wilshire Grand.

the place to stay in WeHo. Saw several celebs there - it's a hot hangout on weekends - crazy noisy, don't expect to sleep until 4am on Fri and Sat nights.
