    Chez Jay

Funky. A jukebox that makes you look hard, but then delivers unexpected, perhaps forgotten treasures. And who doesn't love a waiter that suggests tequila shots for dessert.

    Swingers 24 Diner

Hip L.A. scenesters and actors crowd, better than average food, awesome shakes, and a well stocked jukebox, all add up to a great destination, late at night or over the weekend! The waitresses wear short short mini skirts and fishnets to boot!

Make sure to try either the Black and White Shake (vanilla ice cream and hershey's syrup) or the Rocket Shake (coffee ice cream and ground up coffee beans)!

For those of you on the 'Westside' there is another francise on Lincoln in Santa Monica...

Try Nicky D's pizza in Silverlake. It's on Rowena and is the best New York style pizza in LA. LA generally has below par pizza and this is the real deal!! Nicky the owner is a real character. Friendly atmosphere and pizza that is cooked in a wood fired oven with very fresh ingredients! No canned goods here.

One of my Fav spots when I was there was this place called CUBE. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was unbelievable, they were very inviting and also gave us some of their specialties and rare items they had on the menu to try for free! I highly recommend this place!

out of the dozens, maybe hundreds of froyo places in LA, go here. period. its logo is less trendy and has giant photo of a scary baby, but it's open past midnight and blasts techno music along with featuring 12 changing flavors of froyo, self-serve, with a ridiculous amount of topping choices. and they have like 8 different flavors of mochi.

During my punk rock days, we used to go to Canter's right after a show at the Whiskey A Go Go. The Whiskey crowd likes to come here late at night, and it's quite a scene. During the day, the clientele are less Hollywood rock and roll, and more traditional Jewish. The corn beef and cabbage is good here, as well as the classic kosher foods. This is the place for comfort food on a rainy day. Try the cheese cake too.

Aroma Cafe It is a cute little spot that looks like a house. There is quite a line on the weekends, but it is worth the wait for great sandwiches and desserts. After you order, you find a spot in the garden, and the staff will find you. It is not associated with the Aroma Cafe on Sunset Blvd.

A fabulous, tiny joint, couple of tables inside and a couple out on the lawn. The best home cooked Tex-Mex meal you'll ever find in L.A. and beyond. Right now they're closed Tuesdays, but Mrs. Rogelio says that might change.
