The farmer's markets. Saturdays 10-2 downtown near the BART subway on Center Street between Milvia and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. by Civic Center Park. Tuesdays 2-6 in South Berkeley, MLK and Derby. Thursdays 3-7 in North Berkeley, Shattuck at Rose, in the Gourmet Ghetto.

Cheese Board Collective has literally hundreds of cheeses from around the world (and many from California) at great prices. You're encouraged to sample. And the baked goods are great, too.
