Malaika House: You find Malaika House next to Cine Club on the Old Bagamoyo Road - between Msasani Village and Kawe Beach. The place is perfect for lazy afternoons when the weather is above tropical - as it is every day in December. It is probably also the cheapest and most down-to-earth place (where you are not requested a once-for-all 1000 USD membership fee) for getting a daily dose of palm trees, white sand, a breeze from the Indian Ocean, cool white wine, seafood, lounge music - and local life.

Go snorkling to Mbuja or Bongoyo - take care of sea urchins though!

The beaches in the south are pretty ok too. Take the Kigamoni Ferry, grab a taxi and hit Kipipeo Beach (small fee, bungalows, food, relaxed) or even further south Ras-Kutani is pretty amazing as a weekend get-away!
