Andrea Lau replied over 2 years agowe stayed in Ximen, at Wonstar: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293913-d599943-Reviews-Wonstar_Hotel-Taipei.html
it's sort of tiny, but it was very cheap for us - about $70 Australian/night for two people, including breakfast, for a week. Highly recommended! very clean, too,
also, it was close to the Ximen MRT, and also the shops close by, which had great beef noodles and pork+vegie buns to eat!

Dallas Sanders replied over 2 years agoI will start by saying it is a Youth hostel and I like it a lot. I have stayed here 3 times during the times I stayed in Taipai. The staff is fun and for a younger crowd. The accmodations are cheap. I am not sure if this site has hostels, but I do recomend it as a budget option and I think it is one of the best hostels I have ever been to.
