So authentic but at the mean time very dynamic, a diner or lunch at Tarabya fish restaurants is a must do in Istanbul

Steven Aliment replied over 4 years agoFine dinning and an outstanding view
Wine list is a little pricy. Magnificent Bosphorus view. A short walk from the Hyatt or Intercon Hotels. Mediterranean cuisine and Turkish meals. Topaz will also host international chefs. Guest chefs. Recommend you book ahead.

This is a great modern art museum. Easy to see it in two hours. It has a excellent permenant collection of Turkish painters. I suggest you come for a late lunch on the balcony which is positioned within 20 meters of the Bosphoras. The food is great and the view is incredible.
Museum Hours: Tuesday - Sunday: 10.00 - 18.00 Thursday: 10.00 - 20.00 Closed on Mondays. Free Admission on Thursdays.
Admission: Regular: 7 YTL Discounted: 3 YTL

A little pricey at 10YTL but exploring this underground 6th centrury cistern below Sultanahmet's bustling streets is a cool change of pace.
Located right near the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque.

Nikita Rozhdestvensky replied over 4 years agoFeed yourself right: Kurdish coffee
Ask for Kurdish coffee - despite of the war conflict, Turkish know it's great and some places can prepare it on your special request. It's never on the menu and it's Istanbul's nicest secret (among other nice secrets). Locals also confuse [kursidh] for [turkish], so make sure you sound clear.

Alana Karathanasis replied over 4 years agoA great hostel for a good price.
The Big Apple hostel was fantastic... The rooms were all spotless with beautiful, clean bathrooms. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. The location was amazing as it's in walking distance of the Haghia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Gradn Bazaar and the Egyptian obelisk.

Ali Caglayan replied over 3 years agoKilyos, also Kumköy, is a village located in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul, Turkey. It is also a well-known seaside resort on the Black Sea coast of the European side of Istanbul Province, famous with its beaches.
There is a 14th century Genoese castle in the village, which was restored during the era of the Ottoman sultan Mahmud II, but it is not publicly accessible since it is located in the military zone. A historical cistern, eight cannons, and a 26 meter-high monumental plane tree are also spectacular within the castle area.

Ali Caglayan replied over 3 years agoPolonezköy (Adampol) was founded by Duke Adam Czartoryski in 1842. He was the Chairman of the Polish National Uprising Government and the leader of a political emigration party. The settlement was named Adam-koj (Adamköy) after its founder, which means the "Village of Adam" in Turkish (Adampol means "Town of Adam" in Polish).
"House of the Memory of Zofia Ryży" where exhibited the village's history and photographs; "Częstochowa's Church" which was built between the years 1900-1914 and renewed in 1918; "Polish Cemetery"; "Adampol-Polonezkoy Culture House"; "Open air exhibition center of wooden carving art"; "Apiculture Museum and Souvenir Shops"; "BMX Bicycle Track" and "5 kilometer walking and jogging track"; "Restaurants and facilities with all kind of local food and drinks, barbecue parties, special polish pies, liquors and sweets" are the places of interest.[1]

mmt perk replied over 3 years agoThe food in İstanbul is not outstanding in general but there are outstanding places which need to be discovered!
And never trust a travel guide, there are only touristic locations: Low quality and high prices. You can try Çiya at Kadıköy for Anatolian traditional dinner and Fatih Karadeniz Pidecisi for Pide.
And don't forget to explore Hagia Sophia with more attention, there are newly discovered Seraphim paintings.
