Khujand, Tajikistan + Add a trip

The good places to eat are several restaurants within Khujand. However, in your first night I would suggest that you get invited by a friend to his/her house. This would be the best place to try Tajik food. If however, you are alone, you might want to visit Sughd Restaurant by the river just not far from the Government Office and the old bridge. Most restaurants close after 12 p.m. so it would be best to eat in your hotel the first night. Unlike Dushanbe, the capital city, people wake up very early in Khujand so don't be surprised if you see people walking 4-5 o'clock in the morning. Most of the population go to bed early as well so be prepared, no night life in Khujand.

However, if you are looking for night life, you might consider getting an Uzbek visa and taking a 2 hour drive to Tashkent. You can always come back to Khujand in the morning. However, there are many places you can visit before you shoot of to Tashkent.
