I spent two weeks at http://www.phuketbaankaron.com/ . It is not on the beach, but is very nice and affordable.

I stayed at the Pacific Club resort in Karon beach, right next to Patong which was amazing. Cheap, free internet, roof top pool and the best service ever. It had it's own restaurant too.

There are many hotels in Phuket. Patong beach is the most busy of all the beaches with many hotels, resorts, guesthouses and other accommodations. Karon beach is south of Patong, almost all the hotels are either across the beach road from the beach or further from the beach. Kata Beach Phuket is nice but again there are only a few hotels on the beach but more than in Karon. In Patong la Flora and Impiana Cabana are nice hotels on the beach. On the beach raod at Karon the Karon Princess is a very good hotel with nice rooms and swimming pool and near to the beach as the beach is across the road. The Old Phuket hotel is a few minutes walk to the beach and very nice. There are many hotels on the beach road in Karon Phuket.

The Le Meridien near Karon Beach is an amazing resort with plenty to do on site and is still close enough to Patong to get to within 5 minutes and far enough away to avoid the crowds during high season. 2 massive pools, rock climbing, tennis, private beach and baby elephant visits every day. What more could you want?

Evason Phuket & Six Senses Spa down in Rawai is an amazing place. They even have a private island where you can get to on a local Thai longtail boat. For free. The resort is very natural, directly near the sea, stunning views...
