Michael Cote replied over 4 years agoWe stayed here and it was very nice for sure. There's just four rooms and it's right on the beach, so there's plenty of relaxing time. The breakfast menu is good and the rates aren't too high (we paid between 1500 and 1700 depending on where we booked, internet vs at the place, in late May). It's located in the middle of the Fisherman's Village, so you can walk around the place without hassling with a cab. All of the stuff in the Fisherman's Village is tourist driven, but it was pretty low-key except for the typical annoying touts at night. The beach was good.

Carey Baird replied over 3 years agoTake a Jungle Safari tour with Mr. Ung. You will see plenty of the main tourist attractions including animal shows, elephant trecking, awesome jeep ride to the top of the mountain and cool little waterfalls and statue gardens.
It should cost 1500B per person and includes a full day with lunch. Haggle the agent down as they will start at 1800B typically.
Do this as a starting point to see the main things then get your map out and explore the rest of the island!

Carey Baird replied over 3 years agoAn absolute must see is the Angthong National Park. They are a group of 42 small islands about 45 minutes away in a boat. The area is a protected national park but you can camp for one night if you wish.
A lot of tours go there but make sure that you go to the viewpoint (it is 0.5km climb upwards and takes 30 minutes to get to the top - take trainers or walking shoes), do some kayaking and have time to walk around, snorkel etc. There is also a sunken lagoon in the middle of one of the islands - make sure you see this as well.
