great fresh thai seafood with an awesome ambience for a dinner with friends. I loved the steamed fish and fried fish with mango salsa.
Definitely good place if you don't want to be eating outdoors and want something a bit better than street food.
This tip has the address "Bo Phut" -
Michael Cote replied over 3 years agoWe ate at Shades in Bo Phut. It was high end compared to street vendors, but it was one of the first dinners we've had in Thailand that tasted as good as the Thai food we get back home (in Austin) - most of the food we've gotten had been bland and very unspicy. Here, we got the green curry and chicken, the tom yum with prawns, and a blue crab, all for just under 1,000 baht, plus two drinks.
Not only was the food good, but it was right on the beach, so it was nice and breezy and the decor was fine as well with the usual dark wooden floors and teak-looking carved facades above the bar and whatnot.
