Paul Campy replied over 4 years agoCabbages & Condoms in the central Sukhumvit area is a great start; the Thai food is excellent, drinks glorious and the ambience magical, in spite of the unassuming road. The name is a reference to the the family planning activities and initiatives the restaurant's profits go to support.
A little eclectic, a little bit of a giggle, but a great restaurant.

Liviu Barbat replied over 4 years agoKinnaree, maybe the best Thai restaurant in Bangkok. Much less spectacular than the C&C, but also superb food. Also, Via Vai, excellent Italian restaurant in the same soi. A nice combination could be dinner at Kinnaree, desserts and coffee at Via Vai.
This tip has the address "Sukumvit soi 8, a 5 minutes' walk from the Nana skytrain station." -
Dee Edwards replied over 4 years agoSeconded on Kinnaree being a great place. Cafe Siam is also a great introduction to Thai food in a genteel setting of an old villa. I recommend eating in the garden but make sure to go upstairs for coffee upstairs.
This tip has the address "4 Soi Si Aksorn, Chuaphloeng Road"
