Martin Creathorn replied over 4 years agoSingapore is compact with many things close by. For a weekend, walk up Mt.Faber, across the Henderson waves, and continue the tree-top walk to the Horticultural Park on Alexandra Road.

Phillips Connor replied over 4 years agoContact "Rawa Safaris" Book a night or two on Rawa island off the east coast of Malaysia. Drive about 3 hours to Mersing, leave your car in the guarded lot, take the Malay fishing boat about a half an hour to the island. Check with Rawa Safaris on the TIDES, as the boat cannot leave just anytime due to lack of harbor access at low tide.

davinia replied over 4 years agoHaji Lane, in the Arab Street area. Little India. The old Dempsey barracks. Jump on a random bus to see how the other half lives in the public housing estates: I especially like Marine Parade.

DEBBY NG replied over 4 years agoGo for a hike at Bukit Timah Hill, Singapore's highest point. If you're lucky to get to see some snakes and a few of the 250 birds species that call that hill home. Then have a Prata (Indian bread) at the foot of the hill when you're done.
Check out one of Singapore's last kampungs (villages) on the island of Ubin. You can get there for $2.50 on a ferry from Changi Ferry Terminal. Rent a bike on the island and visit the coast of Chek Jawa. Keep your eyes peeled along the way for a wandering boar or wild jungle fowl in the forest. Have a local coconut at a zinc-roofed store and listen to the cicadas sing.

Robin R replied over 4 years agoGo cycling on Pulau Ubin.
Take a cab or bus to Changi Village. From there take a bum boat across to Pulau Ubin (a small relatively undeveloped island which is part of Singapore). There are a number of bike rental places a short walk from the jetty on the other side. There's loads of single track cycling and you can end the day with some seafood at one of the local restaurants. It's cheap and good.
