    Nordic Light Hotel

Searching for a nice hotel to stay, the Nordic Light Hotel offers everything you need. From vibrant bass boosts in the lobby, to fancy colors in one of their Mood rooms. Swedish design furniture is included.

    Skanstulls Hostel

One of the nicer hostels I've stayed in. Clean with friendly staff. Free wireless broadband (decent speed as well).

Långholmen is an old prison which now hosts a hostel and hotel. 10 mins walk from the subway. See http://www.langholmen.com/ for info

    Hotel Hellsten is also nice.

Just off Sveavagen it's slightly away from some of the more touristy areas, but quite well located for business. It's also only a 10-15 minute walk from the Arlanda Express.

It's a boutique style hotel with traditional Swedish decor. Friendly staff who all have very good English. Free wifi in the bar/lobby, and free LAN connection in the rooms.

Story Hotel is a rather new hotel, (it opened in March 2009) but it already made its mark on the city's nightlife. Rooms are spacious, pretty cool and cheaper than you'd expect. Location is perfect if you'd like to taste the city until sunrise. Recommended. See/read more at Guidebook (and then a dot) se.

I agree with Kati – the view is superb in the summertime, (especially if you pay to stay in one of the rooms with a proper view), the honesty bar is also a blessing and the breakfast is one of the better in Stockholm, but I'm sorry to say that I find the rooms at Hotel J in Nacka Strand not overly amazing. But this is a place you will stay at if you'd like to be close to the water and keep the city on a little more than an arm's length. See more here: http://www.guidebook.se/?p=430

A wonderful place to stay - we have been here approx. 10 times and never been disappointed. It is near the center of the city, in a very nice neighborhood. The food and service is excellent. They are even very nice if you bring a dog. Fabulous - I don't stay anyplace else in Stockholm!

Think Hotel du Vin in the UK, but in Sweden. Dress warm and prepare to see the craziest hotdog stand on a frozen lake.
