    Chutney

For the vegetarian lovers and for those who'd like to see some vibrant hip, youngster Stockholm area and restaurant. Cheap, East-Berlin vibe to it.

    Best steaks in town

Looking for really great steaks at a very good price? Go to a small and cosy restaurant called ROSMARIN. Not fancy, but really juicy and well worth a detour over to Kungsholmen.

    The magic of "fika"

Stockholm has gone crazy about cafées, latte city, baristas frolic ... however may I suggest you try one of the classics ... Sturekatten at Riddargatan ... check on a map not too easy to find if you are not used to it ... the feeling at Sturekatten is like being at a home in the beginning of hte last century ...

    Restaurangen Restaurangen

Very nice restaurant where you choose between 3, 5 and 7 dishes, every dish has a unique name that represents a flavor. One of my personal favorites in Stockholm, fairly expensive but not too bad.

    Mathias Dahlgren

Mathias Dahlgren is one of Sweden's premiere chefs. At Grand Hôtel Stockholm he runs Matsalen (the dining-room), in my opinion the best restaurant in town. The menu changes from day to day depending on availability and quality of local produce. You will probably not get better service anywhere else in Sweden.

Making reservations is typically required, well in advance on weekends.

If you're unable to secure a table or want something slightly less fancy and expensive, try Matbaren (the food bar) located just next to Matsalen. The food is simpler and cheaper but still great (and pretty far from cheap).

Frantzén/Lindeberg is one of the most amazing food experiences I ever had. It's totally, totally awesome! A meal here won't exactly come cheap, but it's well worth the investment. Only 18 seats (or is it 19?). Read/see more here: http://www.guidebook.se/?p=580

This restaurant is actually two restaurants: The Matsalen, (with two Michelin stars), and the Matbaren, (boasting one Michelin star). The latter may be one of the least pompous and most pleasant places for fine dining I've ever visited. It's just a pleasure to have these places in my hometown! Best reasonably priced sushi in Stockholm.

Only open for lunch though, closes at 6pm. You can get take-away up until they close, so get some great condiments, sushi and maki, then go have a great picnic somewhere. Perhaps in Humlegården nearby!

It is French meets Japanese meets molecular cooking. It is experimental without the guests having to be guinea pigs. It is a performance, nothing less. If you can reserve at least four hours for the meal, your evening will be a very enjoyable one. Worth every single hard-earned, heavily taxed Swedish krona. Leijontornet – located in the Old Town of Stockholm, is a Michelin-starred, award winning restaurant with an almost 100% organic menu. The style? Let's say it's the Nordic kitchen re-invented. Don't come here expecting explosions of taste. This is a subtle meal experience, although a very pleasant one. Bonus for tourists: Tables are placed around the remains of a 13th century fortification that was found during a renovation. http://www.guidebook.se/?p=771
