Peter Kirn replied over 3 years agoIf you make just one tourist stop in Stockholm, this should be it. The Vasa is an extraordinary piece of history, a ghostly whole ship rescued from the bottom of the harbor and preserved partly through science, partly through miracle. Built too tall to be seaworthy, the ship's original journey barely got it out of the harbor before it sank. Now, the 17th-century ship is reconstructed whole, almost entirely composed of its original wood, alongside spooky remnants and reconstructions of the lives lost aboard.
