I was there in a school trip. We saw a lot of famous places and architectural buildings and just having fun. It was real adventure.

Check out the western-owned free magazine called Pulse. It is published monthly and you can pick it up from the most popular hotels, restaurants and event places.

Apart the basic hot places you might find in any city guide or wiki (that are a must to visit), you could find some lively hints here http://travelfromrussia.wordpress.com/category/stpetersburg-english/

Daniil Dugaev replied over 2 years agoPick up Afisha (Афиша), a $2 local entertainment guide with showtimes for movies, parties, theatre performances etc. There is also a website (http://www.afisha.ru) with a mobile version at http://m.afisha.ru and a handy iPhone application at the App Store. It's all in Russian, though. (Full disclosure: that's us).

Natasa Rajic replied about 1 year agoYou should definitely see the ballet in the Marinskii Theater. The ticket prices range from 8 to 100e. We took the cheapest ones, and still enjoyed it! :)
