If you are on the island and are looking for a wave, contact Andre and the Azores Surf School through the local turist info or your rep. He is the one - and the only one. Pick up at the hotel, provides all the gear and instruction from beginners onwards and drops you back at the hotel with his surf van.
Call early because he might be off on another island with the kids.
