Adam Honig replied over 5 years agoVertigo Cafe
This is a small cafe easily overlooked, but the food was inexpensive, interesting (I had coconut curry chicken quiche) and quite good. Plus the people there were very nice, helpful and engaging.

Cristina Nunes replied over 5 years agoBest time to visit
Maybe I'm bias on this, but as a person born and raised in Lisbon, the best time ever to visit Lisbon in my opinion is during the Saints' Festivities, from June 10th (our Country National Holiday) through June 13th (Lisbon's Municipal Holiday). You get to meet people from all ranges of classes, ages, races who are having fun on the street at night, eating some of our traditional grilled food (fish and meat), listening to music on the most traditional districts, like Alfama, Mouraria, Madragoa, etc... and there's events all month (June) long.

Damon Garrett replied over 5 years agoA Vida Portuguesa
I found this shop by accident walking off Rua Garrett, but I'm sure it appears in some of the guidebooks. A great place to find all things uniquely Portuguese: from specialty foods to cosmetics, toys and homewares. The shop has been charmingly restored with clear references to its origins as an apothecary.

Damon Garrett replied over 5 years agoCafé Royale
A great spot that isn't immediately obvious from the street. Café Royale clearly aims itself at the Lisbon cool set, offering flavorsome meals based on organic ingredients. Staff are friendly without imposing and it's a comfortable hangout whether in a large group or solo. The coffee was excellent, though I doubt it was organic.

Pedro Assuncao replied over 4 years agoPasteis de Belem
For all travelers, this is extremely important: You have to go to a place in Lisbon called "Belem". Ask the locals for the place where they sell "Pasteis de Belem" (it's a local small cake, reaaaaaaaaally sweet), you won't regret it :)

Riccardo Cambiassi replied over 4 years agoCafe Galeria Fabulas, wifi + atmosphere
it's well hidden in a courtyard by calcada nova de sao francisco, really close to the city heart. Its atmosphere is awesome, the service is just great and it has wifi (2 euros x hour). much recommended.

Sérgio Caiado replied over 4 years agoFor tipical portuguese food you have Tasquinha do Lagarto in Campolide. If you like Italian food you can go to Lucca near Avenida de Roma (just search google for lucca lisboa).

Tom Uytterhoeven replied over 3 years agoOrigami Sushi House,
It is located in the street on the left of the oceanario, and is not to expensive I ate there for €20 p.p. with four plates and even that was too much to eat ^^. TIP: Take place on the balcony inside and if possible on the glass side, then you'll can see how your sushi meal is being prepared!
PS: This should also be indicated as a good restaurant in several guides like trotter, etc...

Pedro Custodio replied over 3 years agoFor some, the best ice creams in Lisbon. For others, the best in the world! “But what’s so special about this ice cream parlour?”, you often hear, for many people have never heard of this place.
Try the unique and first-class "conchanata": 3 scoops of (different flavoured) ice cream served in a metal dish in the shape of a shell, covered with a delicious strawberry sauce. Pure heaven.

Dormain Geyer Drewitz replied over 2 years agoNot an "eat" place, just drinks. Awesome atmosphere, with a funky, old-fashioned feel and lots of "collections" on display.
