Depending on your budget, there are a number of great places to stay in Lisbon. If you want luxury then I would recommend the Lisboa Regency Chiado which is right in the centre of lisbon and has a fantastic balcony bar with breathtaking views of the city. http://www.lisboaregencychiado.com/

If you want mid range then stay at Hotel Mundial near Rossio metro. It's more touristy but good value.

If you're on a budget then Pensao Londres, a bed and breakfast on Rua da Rosa, Bairro Alto is great. the staff are friendly but always request a room at the back as it's very noisy at night as it's the trendiest and youngest area for nightlife and people stay up very very late there.
