Downtown ("Baixa") is always a good place to visit, full of small and traditional shops, but also with some more modern stores. If you're looking for a shopping center, try Dolce Vita, located next to the city football stadium

Dolce Vita is cool, but the best place to go shopping is Forum Coimbra. Downtown is nice to visit and has some small and traditional shops but it's not the right place to go if you really need to buy stuff.
