Bomi Delikatesy http://www.bomi.pl/en if you're tired of same old supermarket stuff. Good selection of international foods, meats, condiments

For antiques and bric a brac head to Kolo on Sundays. Ask any cabbie.

By far the coolest bookstore in town is Czuly Barbarzynca - The Tender Barbarian - in Dobra. http://www.czulybarbarzynca.pl/ Has a decent cafe, too.

American Bookstores in Arcadia Shoping Centre and on Nowy Swiat have a good selection of English language books.

Try the Diesiecoleca Market - Europe's largest outdoor market in a disused football stadium - if you go into the middle there are stalls in every direction as far as you can see. Keep your belongings safe though as it is teeming with thieves

The stadium is now being dismantled to make way for the new sports facility, due to open for the 2012 EU football champs - if you believe the press... There are still some stalls on the Eastern side of where the stadium used to be but it's not the same thing.
