The guest house is a good choice for your first night. Everyone knows where this is. It is an oasis away from the Thamel chaos that can be overwelming in the beginning. They have a wide selection of food, indian, nepalese, pizze etc. Very expensive for Nepal though, which is very cheap compared to anywhere else.

Most places in Thamel are good. Make your own choice.. just walk into almost any place there..
