jerry gay replied over 3 years agothe kathmandu guest house is a quiet retreat in a fast-paced, loud city. the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the rooms are clean, and there's convenient access to a money changer, internet cafe, and restaurant within the complex.

Mattias Andersson replied over 3 years agoThe Tashi Delek Hotel is nice and cheap. Remember to negotiate your price as always in Nepal! Not as fancy as the Guest House, but a short walk away. There are no street names in the Thamel area, so ask the cab driver.

Amitabh Sinhgal replied over 3 years agoi've stayed at raddison, hyatt, yak and yeti and some others. yak & yeti is a great experience, compared to others. It's got this old world wing, where you dont get to stay, but can explore a bit. It's got it's casino and a great buzzing nightclub where entry is free for hotel guests. hyatt is another great place, but slightly off nowhere, but can get a bit boring, unless you want to spend all your time in the casino. Hotel d'la annapurna has had it's time in the past, but feels and is quite run down for what was once a very good hotel. Everest is another good option.

Vellyslav Petrov replied over 3 years ago"Tibet" hotel was the best one, compared to Kathmandu guest house and hotel Manaslu, where I spent 4 nights.

Robbie Rae replied over 2 years agoI think it was called the Everest. It was very pleasant indeed. A bit comfortable. But that's no sin.

Vlad replied about 1 year agoWe spent 1 night at Hotel Potala on our way to the start of Annapurna Circuit Trek. And, unfortunatelly, I can't say this was a good choice. The double we got was very tiny. Besides, the rooms overlooked the street, so we could hear everything that was going on outside (including disco till 12 a/m:). On the way back home we spent 2 nights at The Great Wall Hotel and we liked it much more. The rooms were quite clean and what's the most important for us - quiet at night.
