We were 10 people visiting and everybody enjoyed the dishes and the wines. Very tasty food and nice rums (large collection as well). Recommended!

Supposedly one of the world's best sushi restaurants. Informal atmosphere, and excellent food. Expensive, even for Norwegian standards.

QBA for a good place to work for an afternoon

QBA on Olaf Ryes Plass is a bar/cybercafe with free wifi and plenty of powerpoints along the walls. When I was there it seemed like it was full of local start-ups and freelancers using it as their office. There's plenty of air, light and coffee to keep you going, and the hobo symbols on the wall are a nice nod to warchalking...

Nodee - good sushi and other Japanese food in Majorstuen

Nodee is one of the better places for good food and sushi in Oslo I think. Alex Sushi is supposed to be better, but way too expensive. This place is trendy, but still has very good service (other than the phones, which they can't seem to answer somehow). The pay attention, have good food (the tempura rocks, the sushi is good too as are the other Japanese dishes)

"Mother India" in Pilestredet close to Bislett, has maybe the best Indian food in Oslo to an affordable price :)

"Dinner" if you like spicy schezuanish food :)

Curry & Ketchup - great curry, relatively inexpensive.

Mucho mas - homemade quesedilla is the favorite

Not exceptional but it's been there a long time. There's something about the staying power of that place.

Damn good and cheap Tandoori food close to main railwaystation! Very small place, though.

If you want to more luxurious dining just walk to Åker Brygge, lot of fancy more expensive places. Tried many of them and always got nice meal, I do recommend to try some of the fish dishes.

Small traditional chinese restaurant (cantonese) which also houses a sushi section. Excellent food and is one of few places in Oslo which also serves dim sum!

American rockabilly place with nice food and interior that takes you right back to the 50s

Be sure to try the "Norske smaker fra sjø og land" for a great taste of Norwegian flavours.

Best weekend Brunch in town. Dinner is pricey but excellent quality with fine wines available by the glass.

The best ice cream in Oslo!

Great hotel! Took the fast train "Flytoget" from the airport to Oslo's central station. Walked about 4 blocks to get here. The hotel is rated #1 on Tripadvisor, and we can see why. Comfortable beds, quiet, modern and plush furnishings. Not only is the breakfast buffet included and an evening buffet with the traditional salmon, salads, breads and a hot entree, they offer free waffles or other desserts in the afternoon. Free and fast wifi throughout the hotel and free capuccino machine in the lobby.

Oslo Spiseforretning or Markveien Mat og Vinhus. Value for money! :)

A pretty neat restaurant, with a nice view. The place is divided up into two different sectons; the outdoor and the indoor section. The indoorsection is pretty fancy with quite high prices. The outdoor section is cheaper, while the food still is good, and seriously, you probably came here for the view anyway.

A great italian place without any italians in sight. Good food, happy staff, cosy atmosphere. Some annoying kids were present when I was there.

The food was great, but then they closed the place because of a dirty kitchen with rats in it. Which means they van make delicious food in a dirty kitchen with rats in it. Pitty!
