Peter Cooper replied over 3 years agoFrench-Indonesian fusion cuisine, obviously only in The Hague
The Hague is known for its Indonesian diaspora and food, and also for diplomacy and expense-account "classic" restaurants. In such a city, French-Indonesian is an obvious direction to take, and even better, it seems to work remarkably well at Restaurant Max, where Max and his friendly staff will ensure you have a relaxed, low-pressure and very fine dinner.
Recent favourites have been the Scallops in a subtly-Asian beurre blanc, the MamaMax chicken in an Indonesian village style with touches of French elegance. All-time favourite must be the BangBang Rendang salad, which on one occasion was so jaw-droppingly awesome we only regained the power of speech after the course was finished. Be warned, normally it is merely "very good".

Rob Mientjes replied over 3 years agoFine coffee, great pie
In a typical Dutch-thirties-architecture building is housed café Dudok (they occupy similar buildings in Rotterdam and Arnhem). Normally a place for businessy people to gather, but a great place to have a cup of coffee and relax. It's not uncommon to see designers there meet up with clients. If you feel like eating something stunning, order the apple pie (might be the best I've ever eaten) or the lemon meringue.
The staff is friendly and comes across as just a bunch of friends running a café. Very comforting.

Jennifer Murimboh replied over 3 years agoSarinah Indonesian Restaurant
Every time i visit the Netherlands, I make my relatives take me to The Hague so that i can have a lovely dinner at Sarinah.
This is one of the few indonesian restaurants that my family, who is of indonesian decent, will eat at.

Ludovic Hirlimann replied over 2 years agoNoiri is a sushi sashimi place that offers outside and inside lunch and diner. I've been there twice with friends , the first time for lunch , the second time for diner. If you are in a hurry are lacking time then you should avoid as it took ages for our lunches to come - and the diner where we were only too wasn't much speedier.
It might be slow - but it's fresh ! Nothing fancy in the food regular japanese stuff. Prices aren't high nor low they are in average dutch practice (The bentoboxes are around 15 Euro.)

Rhea Ong Yiu replied about 1 year agoOne of the best Churrasco places I've been to. There's a wide selection of grilled meat and fruits and vegetables, feijoada, rice, salad bar. Aside from being a good restaurant, this place also oozes with the ambiance of a Brazilian party scene. If you are looking for a good Caprioska, Caipirinha or Daquiri, the bartenders at Rodizio can whip up a mean alcoholic cocktail for you!
