A nice place - a bit classy and a bit expensive - but the food is good. The menu is simple , and the place is really cozy even when it's packed. I would recommended it for a nice evening with good feed.

If you want to save some money here are some choices: La Bota, near the 'Pieterskerk' has a French kitchen, price/quality is very good. M'n Broer, close to La Bota is a bit more expensive and the food is a bit more classy, also French kitchen. Verboden Toegang, at the end of the 'Rapenburg' (seen from central station), average price good quality, French kitchen. Fandango, at 'Noordeinde' has a cocktailbar in front and a seperate tapas restaurant in the back. about 60 different choices of Tapas and all average of 4 euro per tapa. Especially nice to go with a group, Spanish kitchen. Karalis at 'Doezastraat' is one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Leiden. Again, very good price/quality, Italian kitchen.

If the restaurants above don't appeal to you just walk around in the smaller streets around 'Breestraat' and 'Rapenburg' there are many restaurants of different price, kitchen and quality around.

Nice food, reasonably priced. Book at the restaurant rather than the Brasserie across the road.
